dixie chopper XW 2002

    my buddy has a DC , it stalled the otherday and will start but when he engages the blades it stalls. i am sure it must be a kill switch but i am not sure where at. can anyone help?

    If it starts up the kill switches on the arms and brake are fine. Check the seat switch or pto button, or the fuses.

    Check deck spindles for binding or belt that got off the pulley and possibly binding.

    Well, Being a Dixie dealer I can tell you it's not a safety switch issue. This unit only has the seat switch and it has nothing to do with the joysticks or deck engagement. If the seat switch or relay were bad the unit wouldn't start at all.

    My guess is the engine stalled due to dropping a cylinder, Half of a 20hp engine isn't enough power to run the deck on these units. You may try starting the engine and remove each plug wire one at a time, If the engine stalls when one is removed the other side it not running. Could be a coil issue or bent push rod etc....
