The last time I looked at Dixon's web page they were only making lightweight machines. Their machines would no doubt be worn out in a year (maybe less time) when used by a professional lawn service. If you're looking for a really inexpensive commercial machine go to http://www.mowersdirect.com but remember, You Get What You Pay For.

4. Richard you must be kidding about those blackrocks.

You can buy a new toro/exmark metro hybred for those prices.

Lawerence, the last time I checked (and it was recently) you couldn't touch any Toro or Exmark ZTR for $4799.00 including shipping. That is the catalog price for the 48" Landscaper/Black Rock ZTR w/17HP Kawasaki. And the 61" Landscaper/Black Rock is $5299.00 w/23HP Kawasaki.

Richard exactly where do you take a blackrock to get warrenty work in the NE PA area?

I have a Toro dealer about a mile and a half from my biz.

Lawerence, Like I said. You can't buy Toro/Exmark ZTRs for $4799.00.

Who cares? I wasn't recommending the purchase of them. I was only advising of the availability of cheap commercial ZTRs.

9. The diff in price between a 17 kaw and a 20 kohler is $500
alone.

So Richard why would anyone buy a blackrock 48 for $500
less than a 52" toro (lazer hp with a 52" toro deck)?

Please also take notice that the deck on the 52" toro is offset a few inches to the left. This makes for easier trimming than the 48" deck which is flush with the left side of the unit.

There is a guy up here that has a large enclosed trailer, that does lots of work with Dixons. I did a little investigating and found out that the dealer lets him lease these for a year. He turns them in and gets 3 new ones for the next season. Funny thing is that he has both the dark blue "commercial" as well as the baby blue homeowner model.

If he would stand still long enough I would like to see how reliable they are.
