I was checking the soil in a yard today in a area where the grass has suddenly died. What I found was a chalky like something in the soil I was wondering if any one here recognized it?

Without actually seeing the area, it's hard to tell what the exact problem is. Is this problem all over the lawn or is it in just one area? Molds are caused by several things......very wet conditions, fungii, to name a few. A fungicide may work, but again, I would need to see a much broader pic to diagnose correctly.

Maybe this should be moved to the pesticide forum.
