I'm a long time reader. Seldom post.

I'm wondering where all the used ZTR's go. Everyone talks about buying new machines, but no one says what they did with the old ones. Are your dealers taking them in on trade ( I don't see many used machines at dealers ) ?

Are you selling them privately ?

Are there ZTR scrap yards somewhere that old mowers make it into ?

    Thanks for any feedback.

Some local dealers take trade ins but most don't. Craig's list is another option. Woulld guess some companies part out their older units and discard the rest.

forget trading with a small dealer. we have some lawn auction up here. the dang mowers bring nearly new price. I paid 6500 I believe for 2 vantages brand new. at auction similar units with 500 or so hours on brought 5k. ugly shape. so I think that's what I am gonna do when mine are wore out

A lot of guys sell their mowers at 1500 hours or so. They claim to get a better resale. Also, at higher hours, the major repairs start to add up.

Deere has unlimited hour warranty so 500 hours or 12 months is my pplan leaving 2 years of good warranty on the machine. Getting new bigger trailer on off season time anyways be getting a 54".

I got my old Gravely for fence areas if needed we are debating on selling it just had new governor seal, oil pan seal replaced runs like a champ still got to readjust rpms though.

Does Deere warranty the engines for second owner's? Exmark does not. Have read Scag offers no warranty beyond the original purchaser.

I will check on it should be headed down there tomorrow to much work today, I don't see why the warranty in full would not carry over Kawi and Deere have 3yr on them.

Only thing not covered is belts and blades

On another note you can also lease from them very nice option.

No warranty doesn't transfer over. The only way it can if it's a "demo"
