dodge cummins de

    IM having problems with my truck. it runs fine ,but when you turn the switch it keeps running. some told that wasnt the igniation switch. the part was 400.00 bucks .do you have any idea what it could be. the truck is a dodge 3500 cummins turbo de 5.9 .:confused:

    when turn off or on? Meaning when you turn key off it stays on or starter stays on when starting?

    Also, if the engine has less than 100,000 miles, the solenoid and labor are covered under warranty.

    when I turn the key off, the motor keeps running . also the motor is a twelve valve. thanks for the information.

    It happened to me. That's why I know what it is.

    Put a circuit testor on the hot wire going in to the fuel pump solenoid and see if the current stops when you turn off the key. If it does, and the engine still runs, you have a bad solenoid. If you still have current in the wire when you turn off the key, you may have a bad ignition switch.
