That looks pretty good to me. What height were you cutting at there? Looks like maybe 3.75"-4"?

You've got a pretty good eye. 4" in the top and 3.5" in the bottom one. The top one is my parents place. Its a freeby and I usually mow it about every ten days but man does it grow. Usually looks alot better when I use my standard blades but I just picked up a 4 acre job that they just bush hogged so I threw the gators on for that job. Monday's are my slow day so I just left them on.

Do you have a striper kit or just the deck? Also, do you have the flex forks on yours? I just found out there's a dealer not too awful far from me. I may go by there this week if I get a chance and take a look at what they have, though I doubt that their inventory is very large at this place.

i mounted a rubber strip on the back of the mower. After looking on their website tonight they are now showing the striping roller that mounts on the back of the deck. May try that out. I demo one with flex forks and while the ride was better I noticed sometimes when you stop it tries to scalp a little so i did not buy them on mine.

Here are the 2 decks side by side.
The front baffle on the Northern is very similar to the one I tried except for where Ive marked the "1". The one I had curved back sending clippings further backwards and closed the chute more than in this pic.
Its doesnt show bolts for bolting on either so not sure whats going on with that. The one I tried wasnt adjustable but it did bolt onto where the baffles on the southern deck attach.

I'm not sure what the deal is either but I know I will be making a trip down to the dealer tomorro to see if I can find out. Big Dog has changed their web site up a little over the last couple of weeks and that is around the time I started hearing something about them coming out with the baffled deck for 2014. Could that be the new deck? Also they now have a striping kit listed (roller just like the Hustler) on there for the Diablo.

Went and checked and I do have the standard deck and not the "south" version.

Is where you live considered "the south?"
At the end of the day, if the deck works for you then theres no problem.
Did you see how the front baffle is attached, bolted/welded on etc?

The poor bastards in the transition zone don't stand a chance, like myself. I do a fair amount of heavy cutting so I can never really get the QOC that I desire. I would almost give my left nut for some of these properties I see you guys post on here.
