I've heard that some of the newer (shindaiwa) blowers like the eb630 are being made by redmax. is this true?

No, they share the same engine manufacturer, Zenoah.

    Those Zenoah/Komatsu engines simply rock!

I beleive Redmax uses those engines on its trimmers too...not so sure if Shindaiwa does.

Shindaiwa only uses the Zenoah/Komatsu for their EB630. The rest of their engines are Shindaiwa.

SF, Redmax is basically Komatsu Zenoah's "American" label... I believe that ALL redmax stuff is K/Z... I'd really like to get some equip. labeled K/Z as that would be pretty cool... Kinda like having an Nissan Skyline.....

Komatsu owns both Zenoah and Red Max. They sell Shindaiwa only the 62cc engine for their backpack. That's it!!! And Red Max has no plans of selling Shindaiwa the new 72cc engine and backpack they are coming out with.
