My local agricultural office advised me that, in the absence of a soil test, you should apply 75 lbs of lime, and 40 lbs of 5-10-10 or 20 lbs of 10-20-20 per thousand square feet. This is for new lawn installation after tilling.

    Does this sound acurate?

Where is Sanford NC? what type of soil do you have? Clay? If it is a clay base lime won't hurt a thing.
