I've been putting out fliers for the first three years of my business. I was wondering about doing door hangers. How do you go about putting them out? Do you just park somewhere and start walking? How do you carry enough to canvas an entire neighborhood? Just trying to get a feel for your ways of doing it. Thanks.

I would target my areas. Try to keep close to home/shop, also If i had 1 over there I would target that area.

never had any problems/complants, and if you do just tell them your just a man out looking for a hand up, and NOT a hand out.

    God bless

I also plan on handing door hangers out this year. My girlfriends brother is in highschool and I know I could through him and his friends a few bucks and they would be more than happy to hand the out. If I gave them all company shirts and made them look presentable would that be professional?

Ive got 3000 of them and really dont want to hand them all out myself lol.

I paid two kids last summer to hand out 10k. Paid .10 per flyer and snuck around the target areas in the evening to make sure they got handed out. All in all not bad, they were track runners so they used it as a workout. Averaged about 1000-1200/day between the two of them. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about T-shirts, most people will be at work anyhow and won't care if Jesus himself put it on their door let alone a sweaty high school kid in a landscaping T-shirt.

How effective are the door hangers?

If you pass them out to 1000 homes, what type of response do you typically receive?

Are there strategies for picking areas that get a better response?

Are there strategies for designing your door hanger to get a better response?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm just curious about what works best.

Out of 1k flyers u should get 10 calls spreaded out over 3 months. If you are really trying to grow you need to get 10k if you want 50-75 customers.
