What do you guys think about installing sod when it's dormant? I'm looking at installing it on March 9th for a customer. Around here we don't start mowing until about April 1st. The sod company says it will be fine as long as the ground isn't frozen. Should I have the customer keep it watered, even though it probably won't start growing for a couple of weeks? What kind of a watering schedule do you recommend? It's turf-type tall fescue. Thanks!

The turf supplier is right. But if you are laying on new soil then there should be no issue of frozen soil. Moisture is a must. We here in Australia have no issue of frozen soils, thankfully.
