double check valve

    Is it ok to put a double check valve outside of the house. I live in detroit area and winters are freezing.

    As long as it gets drained of water before it can freeze.

    i very much prefer the doublechecks outside.
    i try hard to have EVERYTHING outside. that way if there is a leak it cannot hurt the house.
    like the man said, get it drained out.

    Use a bicycle pump to winterize, they only need around 7 psi.:)
