What is the minimum amount of horse- power( in your opinion ) required on a 48" gear drive walk-behind to run doubles, and Jungle Wheels?

What about Meg-Mows in the same scenario as above?

Anyone run Meg-Mo's on their walk's?

If you can run doubles you can run Meg-mos. Now if you have thick grass you might want 18 to 20 hp. If you have thin grass you can get away with 15 to 17hp.

Ive done doubles on a few occasions, and it will draw the rpms down substantially. Its a 14 kaw, so i needed the rpms raised to about 3800 no load to keep them around 3600 loaded. It will do it, but it doesnt like it. Ive found it alomst as effective to run singles at around 3750 rpms loaded as it is with doubles at 3600 loaded.

This is probably going to sound dumb, but here it goes. What are you talking about when you say doubles & Meg-Mows?

Doubles means running two blades on one spindle.

Meg-mo blade system. Check out the sponsors link at the top of the page.:)
