I am just getting into driveway sealing as an addon to my lawn maintainence business and I have already been approached about doing basements for new houses. Do they use the same sealer?

I have heard that they are the same. I am pretty sure that they are. Protect sells sealer, give them a quick call. They also sell heated tanks so you can spray foundations in the winter.

I just called protect and they did confirm that you can spray foundations with the same sealer. Thanks. Do you deal with protect?

I bought a couple of wands and tips from them, they seem to be ok.

As for the sealer I buy pure BlackMac from TJ pounder, that is ready to spray. It am very very happy with the sealer so for.

Protect adds stuff to their BlackMac, what they sell is called cut-back.

I think the guy from Protect post on this fourm. Anyway I asked why do they add things to thier Blackmac but he never replied to me yet.

I am new to this sealing as well so I would really like to know the differance.

Also before you buy a system check out marathon equipment I have heard great things about their systems.

We add nothing to our product! It is the exact same as TJ Pounder. We buy 40,000 liters at a time and add nothing. It is pure Blackmac exactly the same as TJ Pounders. Your ill informed on this and spreading bad information.

As far as spraying foundations... yes it is to code you can spray foundations with it. We have a number of customers that only do foundations with it.

Cut back is just another name for the oil based sealer.... cut back is actually just refering to it being a derrivitive of actual ashpalt. We buy off of the exact same manufacturer as TJ Pounder.

    You told me:

"As far as the sealer Pro-Tect sells is Blackmac and is cut with NAPTHA"

I guess I miss understood what you said.

If you could clear things up that would be great. Do you ask your supplier to add NAPTHA to BlackMac? Why is NAPTHA added?

Maybe to you my question is stupid and not worth answering? I would still like an informative response from a informed person.

I am just asking as a potential customer, if you don't want to clear things up for ME, then that is fine.

Blackmac is cut with NAPTHA... but that is how it is made at the plant. The other oil based sealer is cut with minireal spirits when it is made. I am sorry for the missunderstanding but I don't want people thinking we cut our product with anything. And I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as a stupid question. Depending on what your building you probably could build your own system but it would probably in the end be cheaper to buy a proven system. Again it is up to you but feel free to ask any questions.
