I was wondering what is a good line to draw for service on accounts. If you
have enough accounts in an area is 45 minutes worth the trouble. Sometimes
service is not the problem but the call backs.

To me...that is a long way, but if you can make money doing it....have at it!

That is 90 minutes (there and back) that you are not working or paying someone to go there. Hopefully you can pick up come customer in between as that would help justify the time and fuel.

I like to stay close to home to save time and fuel!

much of that will depend on density of a area and prices!

living in houston, on top of a small one man operation, i have the luxury of not having to cover large areas

I hear ya! The farthest I go is about 15 miles...but over 90% or my customers are within 7 miles of my home and I still somehow spend a ton on fuel!

I don't like to go more than 15-20 min but I'm in a area where I don't have to. most of my lawns are less than 5 miles from home. but if you don't have enough potential clients in your are you have to drive a little. I would make sure and do a very good job so you can avoid call-backs.

I have enough accounts for 2 full days of work each month. But i getting
tired of the drive and at least one day a week i have to go back for a problem
or a new account that takes 10 min. With traffic its about 40-45 min one way.
