Drought stress/death or fungus

    Hundreds of lawns is our area (Chicago-Kentucky Bluegrass, Rye, Fescue), look like these pictures. We have had a terrible drought. Only rained a handful of times all summer. Some fertilized, some not. Most of these lawns have not been watered, so could it be just normal dormancy or has the patches of lawn died. Other ideas-summer patch or brown patch.

    Have seen sod webworm adults flying around. Did a dishsoap/water test on the soil and I could not find any sod webworm larve.

    Have you checked for grubs?

    Yes I have, absolutely no grubs.

    That's Pythium Blight Buddy. We have that all over the place here too. A lot of my lawns have it to a degree.
