    Hi All
I've been keeping the green side up and the grass side down for some thirty
years. Started out for a company call Walsh Landscaping back in 73, When the boss found out that I could turn a wrench, I got drafted into helping
him do maintance on his Lockes. Anyone old enough to know what a Locke is ?
Anyway, after 23 years there, the business was sold 5 years after the ol' man passed on to the greener side of the fence. Turned a wrench for Scians for a few years untill TrueGreen to over. That was a nightmare......
So now I'm a full time small engine mechanic, working in a hole in the wall shop that will go nameless....Can't do the walking any more.....
Spent some of my winters working in mower shops, if not doing snow. Learning a new trade. And thats about it.

    Breezmister,

Welcome, and yes i know what a Locke is and have one. She is not in running shape yet needs a motor. My father purchased it brand new in 1961 and he cut 20 lawns a week with it for years. My brother and i retired it in 1993 when pop passed on. A lawn machine that cut grass for 32 years.

Welcome to the old geezers club.

Yeah, I've ran Lockes, Nationals, Yazoo, Roseman, and some other obscure manufacturers that slip my mind right now.

    Breez,
I say that machine has 4000 on it, in 1987 we replaced all sprockets and chains, on the machine. I don't think i ever pulled the old rap rope more then once to get her started all those years. He got it from a place in New town Square some mower shop i think it is still there. He paid $1800 back then too.
