Once you figure the weight of the dump you won't be able to carry anything in it. Thats why dumps start at 1 ton and go up.

i know, thats why i am looking to have a dump bed, i do not do big jobs, the biggest would be a yard of top soil or 1 to 2 yards of mulch. weekly i carry grass, leaves during clean ups

I wouldn't even consider putting a dump on a 1/2 ton. Let alone a dodge! doesn't matter if your not going to be hauling alot or not. the weight of the bed alone will put a strain on your sure to go out tranny. We put 2 tranny's in our 98 dodge 2500. Just my 2 cents

Not a good idea for that light truck. It will not last.

Go to www.loadhog.com, I think that's what you may be looking for. I know I'm considering one.

For the cost, you may be better off with a used dump trailer... imo

    Big difference in a F250 and a Dodge 1500.
