I have a 7x14 hydraulic dump trailer being towed by a F250SD, soon to be replaced by an 05 F350SD. My question is...Can you charge the hydraulic dump deep cycle battery from my 7 pin trailer connector instead of always using a household charger?...Thanks

Yes..by using the center HOT wire. However... a better deal is to run 4 ga wire from battery pos and neg to a seperate plug at rear of truck. Use this to power the lift rather than the battery.

Many trailers are prewired for a "trickle" charge directly from the truck when ever the igniton is on and the trailer wiring is hooked to the truck. I was never using mine long enough to charge the battery. I agree that you could add aux. power to the pump. Be sure it is properly fused, as you probably know and get a weather tight conection between the truck and the trailer.

Good luck and post a pick when you get it done.
