how do i raise the sides on my steel dump trailer?
Do you not have the 2x4 slats in the sides of the body?
Here's what I did to mine. Let me know if you have any questions. If you have the 2x4 slats it makes it very easy. What size trailer to you have?
i bought it used, and some of the stake holes are bent. anyway a 2x 4 wouldnt fit in the holes? i wanted to lay a 2x 12 on its side and make it 1 ft. higher.
You could fabricate some metal triangle slots for the boards and have them welded on the corners... Look at the "board kit" on the Bri-Mar site--->
thats what im looking for. i do have a welder. any beter pics or ideas?
you can buy new stake pockets fairly cheap from any trailer shop.
what is a stake pocket?
Stake pockets are the open metal things on the side of the trailer where you can slide a board in (usually a 2x4). If you look at my link, the first pic should show the 2x4s in the stake pockets to give you a general idea.
