Dump truck

    What kind of mileage can you expect out of a 3500 dump truck ? I am thinking about buying a dump truck tp pull the rig next year what kind of mileage can you get out of a gas dump pulling a trailer? anyhelp would be great thanks.

    I have a 2008 f350 and i get about 7-8 mpg depending on how much highway driving I do with a 6.5 x 12 tandem axle open trailer

    Im going to say 7-10. Plan for the low end. I think dump trucks usually have gearing that keeps mileage really close empty or towing.

    Thanks for the input thats what i have but its not a tandem
    Ya i would hope to get around 10 atleast.

    around town ? or just whenever do you pull a trailer.

    on average, there's trailer behind it more than 60% of the time

    We get about 8-10 on ours at work. We have a 350 and a 450.
