    He is not saying that it does not steer, he is saying that it doesn't off track when you go straight. tracked machines just like wheeled vehicle can veer left of right while moving forward.

    yea, not the best description but he is saying that when you push the levers both forward it will go straight and not veer to the left or right like some Z-turns or older skid loaders will. Usually its as simple as a relief valve thats coming loose but sometimes its other things.
