I bought a used echo srm-3000 and it had a manual feed head on it. For the sake of time I wanted to put a bump head on it. So I bought an echomatic head that says it fits the srm-3000 and many others. However, the threads in the head are bigger than the threads on the shaft coming out of the trimmer. The head did not come with any adaptors and I am curious if there is a trick to make this work.

When you buy an aftermarket bump head it comes with a bag of adapters that can be used for different situations....guess that is what you need. Dealer should be able to help if you bought the head from them.

Well unfortunately I already have been to the dealer and they did not have any adaptors to make it work. The guys were pretty much clueless about it and the manager had already gone home for they day. They wanted me to leave it, but I said that I would just bring it back when the manager was there. However, thank you for the help.
