im not in the commercial part of the business, but looking for professional opinions...
i currently live on a normal size neighborhood lot (70x130), and we also just purchased 1.8 acres nearby that we will be building on in approx 3-4yrs... until we build, we still must maintain the lot since its in a neighborhood...
i finally decided on the toro titan 54" for my mowing, but am not sure on what trimmer and blower...
i have narrowed it down to 2 choices:
echo 265T (trimmer) and pb-620st (blower)
    and
stihl fs90r (trimmer) and br380d blower

the dealer also talked to me about the stihl kombi system...

any opinions and why? i definitely want equipment that is going to last! i know that the stihl has a 3yr consumer warranty and the echo has a 5yr... but ive heard great things about both!!!

I've been all over the search box since I've signed up here. The best blowers according to LawnSite members is the Redmax EBZ7100 and the Stihl BR600. However, the best string trimmers seem to be about evenly split between the top brands. What I can say though is that the string trimmer with LEAST complaints is Maruyama.

thanks for the replies gentlemen... after posting this question i finally did a search and found too much information on my same question...lol...
    sorry to tie ya'll up...
    going with stihl...
the 90 r and may even step up to the br600 for the heck of it... then i could at least blow the kids out of my way!!! might even be fun...

the mower choice: 2010 toro titan 5450 i believe will be just fine for what im doing... besides that im getting a heck of a deal at 4600.00... i would much rather have a true commercial grade z400, but at 2k more i think ill stay with what ive chosen!

You will be very happy with stihl. The br600 is a great blower and the fs90 will be a great trimmer. You made a great decision.

BTW....all I use is stihl, but mostly because I have the best dealers around for them, so it was a no brainer for me.

Both Echo PB620 and Stihl BR380 is only a medium size blower. You do have a large land. You might want to up to a big blower. Read the blower thread to decide.

I have the Maruyama BL8100 64cc bp. Not necessary the strongest of the big blower but definitely the cheapest. I only paid $389 from a dealer. THis is cheaper than the Echo PB620 and stronger. It is the same as Kawasaki KRB750.

Read the other threads, get one that is on sale. At any given time, there is usually one brand that have special promotion. All brands are close enough, so get the one on sale!!!
