Has anyone else had any issues with the intake elbow on the Echo PB4600 blowers dryrotting, cracking or tearing? I just got mine in, and the intake boot is basically ripped off where it connects to the air filter box, and torn near the large diameter end on the bottom too.

Is there a later model elbow piece made of a different material like plastic or something that can replace this early model one? I'm looking to find a way to prevent the issue from happening again.

    Is this a backback blower?

Well, for now, till I get the new intake adapter piece in, I've got a little duct tape, some silicone sealer, and a little prayer holding the old one together. oh btw, on these machines US army ALICE pack straps work great as replacment straps. mine broke, so I pulled the straps off my alice pack, and stuck em on, they work great, and feel nicer to me.
