As you may know the echo edgers have foam handles (foam removed in pic to show worn through pipe) which get chewed up in trimmer racks. Mine even went so far as to crack the steel pole. So when I purchased a new PE-251 I loved the solid handle. I purchased a new main pipe, and all the parts for a srm 251e throttle control handle minus the on/off switch. Lastly, I liked the no clog of the more expensive edgers but this 2400 will not die and has always had enough power so I used a dremel.

Has anyone else had problems with these foam handles not lasting long? When I used them I used to tape them at lease once a week.
