Okay, now I'm interested in the "tuna can to ring" concept--but I don't like tuna, would any other can work okay, or does it need the smell of tuna to work correctly???????? Also, I'm guessing this doesn't work on Stihl's since all parts have to be bought from a dealer!!!!

    Ahhh...the good ole days...
Any can will work....the key is not to shrink it too much when submersing it in the liquid nitrogen/budweiser mix...custom fitting the box staples into piston rings is a little more involved.....
Dutch can give you the specifics....

That particular model would have used the steel Bud can and as I remember...it wasn't an exact science...it took a whole lot of them to get it right....

Mine has gotten so it took about 48 rope pulls before it would start.

The primer bulb goes in hard and slow and then comes back out slow.

Now I push the primer bulb in all the way and get a couple of rope pulls before the primer bulb comes back out all the way.

This hopefully greatly reduces the number of rope pulls needed.

Try changing your fuel filter. BTW this thread is 4 years old. Some members have been MIA for a while.
