Can someone tell me if the Echo SRM 2601 has a steel drive shaft or a flex drive shaft?

You can get the SRM260 in a Steel or FleXible...Your Choice!

    I just got one & it needs a New Coil...After 1 Day!

They are now called 260 and 260s. The 260s has a steel shaft. I think the older 2601's do have the steel shaft though.

I guess the flex shaft is referring to the drive shaft? I got a PE 260 and the drive shaft is flexible because the bend at the bottom of the shaft I guess. How often do I need to grease the shaft, and how much grease?

No, not all straight are solid. All bent are flex though. For instance the stihl fs 85 has a flex and solid version. So does the echo 260 and 260s.
