For everyday grass trimming, which of the following units is best?

    Echo SRM260S
    Echo SRM261T
    Redmax 2400 (stratocharged)

Local dealer has a sale on them. Prices are all similar.

Out of the 3 of them, the SRM 261T. Good power and torque at a good price.

I have the 261T. I love it. Light weight, well balanced and lots o' torque. I haven't used the other 2 that you mentioned.

All good equipment but I'm partial to Echo line-trimmers (I've got SRM260s). You can't go wrong with any of those choices.

Thank you for the advice everyone. I've narrowed my choice down to the two Echos 260s or 261T. What's the main difference between the two? I'll be moving from the Shindaiwa T230 to one of these two.

    power heads are the same.

The difference is the S has the solid steel drive shaft.......which is what i sell and recommend.

The T has the high torque box, but uses a flex shaft.

Guys take the shields off the the flex shafts are destroyed, like on all makes and models.

Taking the shield off the 260s , the shaft won't brake, but you will go through clutch shoes because it slips.

That 260 echo power head runs up alot of low end torque.
