Echo is willing to fix any problems with a ton of hedge trimmers gearcases. If yours is defective, they will install a new, better gearcase + brand new set of blades. They also increased warranty to 2 years on these units. Thats product support.

they talked about this at the yearly dealer update seminars. Anyone who bought one in the past year and had it registered should recieve a letter.

One of the things they changed, besides others they have done over the years, is the plate on the bottom that covers the gearbox is more than 2x thicker. That plate was found to flex enough, especially if any of the gearbox screws lossed, to throw the rods inside off and damage gears.

Newer echo units will be coming through with preset blade bolts, so you dont' have to keep adjusting them. Some guys will love this.

Our dealer did not wait for Echo to contact us--he called us personally, made immediate arrangements to repair all for us as needed, apologized profusly for something that was not even his fault--he's a class guy!

I head that the gearbox cover was a problem and they suggested to put two covers on it.. I will love the non-adustable blade bolts that was a constant problem area for us.
