After fighting with my new Echo PAS 230 for a week I tried turning up the idle screw (took some experimentation) and found a place where it starts WAY better. Before it was 6-10 pulls  now its around 2. Im not a mechanic but this worked for me. Everything else was checked over first (filter, fuel, plug) Still cant figure out why in the world Echo has their trimmer heads turning they way they do (clockwise) the only thing i can think of is they want to sell you safety gear to protect your face and legs from flying debris.. Love the PAS system tho.. Pro Paddle works great.

You must be using a curved shaft trimmer. All straight shafts turn counter clockwise,

Thanks for catching that specialtylc.. that was a typo.. should have said "COUNTER CLOCKWISE" in my first post.
