Anyone going to the edge expo in Georgia? You can train and take the pest license test there.
I'll be there. Got a free ticket through Southern Crescent Tech in Griffin, since I'm still a student (last semester!). I would recommend taking the course there. I did a full semester at the college in pest management, and the test was still difficult. Perhaps the cram course will help you, assuming you have studied through the 2 books... I wouldn't expect to walk out after 8 hours with a license if you haven't studied.
Went last year and me and my guys are going again, good stuff.

I was there today and its a little misleading selling you on training and testing. Way too much info and I don't feel very positive about my chances of passing tomorrow. I'll study tonight and hope for the best.
Its a tough test... I took a semester long class in college on it and it was still difficult.
I didn't do any educational courses this year, just went to talk to new potential vendors.
I didn't get the books because they said it wasn't required.. Bad move, I should have got the books. I was trying to be cheap cause I already spent so much to get here.
The training was good if you had the books already and were studying and if I had a book to follow along with and was able to study more I think it would have been a lot easier. I am hopeful I passed but not really counting on it..
I went on my common sense and knowledge of the industry having been in it for so many years, plus whatever the teachers went over the past few days.
I'll let ya all know if I passed when I find out
I can't imagine going in without the books because the speakers moved so fast. At least with the books I had a chance to go over the review sections on each chapter.
After taking it I feel I probably passed the turf and ornamental section primarily due to being in the field for a number of years. The general standards section on the other hand, we'll see.
Well hot damn... I passed! GAs newest applicator here. Though for the time being I'll probably continue to sub it out until properly equipped.
