Has anyone tried the edger attachment for the grasshopper mowers? What has been your experience with them?

    Thanks,

    John

In addition to operating a good size lawn maint. operation, I am a Grasshopper dealer. We sold two of the new edgers to our City's Parks Dept. They love them and say they work great. They have a very heavy duty disk wheel that does the cutting.
These are designed to really cut a nice groove in tough conditions. They will get most of the runners that creep out over the walk or curb, if you are edging Bermuda, or other "creeping"
grasses. however, it will leave some runners here and there. Do not expect a perfect, clean cut like a stick edger will give.
The Parks Dept. uses them on curbs, and sidewalks/walking trails in all the big parks here. They say they don't know how they ever got along without them. These edgers are very heavy duty, and they just pin on in place of your discharge chute. you can put one on in a minute, no kidding.:)

Mowingman, will they mount to other brands?

No, not without modification. They are made only to fit the mounting brackets on a Grasshopper. I guess you could modify them to mount on other brands if you are handy at welding and fabricating. Only the mounting brackets would need to be changed.
