I do not have an edger on my crew due to the time it takes to use one. But I just broke a storm door on a clients house due to the weeed eater throwing a rock. If i buy an edger would i have to go back and rehash the edges with the weed eater or will the edger be sufficient

The edger should take care of it. Different types of grass will do different things. You might need to still trim a little afterwards but it will look really nice being done with an actual edger.
