I want to know how do you guys price to edge overgrown edges. I had a client ask me to do it but I don't know how to charge.

Hopefully you know how long it will take.

your time X hourly rate = price

    example

    1.5 hr @ $50hr = $75+tax

Really depends on how bad the overgrowth is...?

Also if conditions are too wet it gets really messy and muddy. Too dry really gritty.

I charge 40 cents a foot for the first hundred feet, 30 cents thereafter minimum charge of $35, if using a power edger. If there is any manual edging involved I add it on at my hourly rate.

I figured id charge by the foot. Also what is the best way to do it with shovel or powered edger

I'd use the edger tool on my km110.

I would use a powered edger like this!

If it's really bad you may need both. If needed I'll take my mini-skid with a bucket and cut it, then do finishing touch up with edger & string trimmer. After getting it in shape get them to agree to a maintenance plan instead of waiting til it's in terrible shape.
