Does everyone edge sidewalks everytime you mow or every other week? Just wanting to know what some of you guys and ladies do.

Stick edger for first edge in the spring, maybe again in the fall, then maintain each time with the trimmer.

    Edge?

Heck...people don't even want to pay what it's worth to get the turf cut.

Every other time with a stick edger. Here of lately they’ve not been needing edged as often, some only once a month. Some of them need it once a week, these are the real nice lawns with soft soil that fill in the edge quickly, but I haven’t done those often lately either (too dry & slow growing to need it). It does give a nice finishing touch to a lawn though.
Personally I use a Echo SRM2400 split boom with the edger attachment. The one time I tried using a trimmer, it looked awful and I threw a rock into a expensive French door window… we can’t even find anyone to replace just the glass, likely both doors will have to be replaced. It was two layered tempered safety glass fortunately and just broke the outside layer on one door. Customer was sitting at table just inside the doors when it happened  From then on I’ve always used the stick edger, it has lower RPM at the blade, does a better job, cuts instead of plows (safer) and has a nice guard made just for edging. Faster and easier for me too.

So what do you charge for edging? Per foot?
