Edgit for a curved-shaft trimmer?

Does anyone have any experience with the Edgit for a curved-shaft trimmer? It's only $25 - but it appears to be a different animal than the Edgit for a straight-shaft, having a much smaller disc.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Edgit for a straight-shaft, including that it greatly reduces debris flying in your face.

I have a Homelite curved-shaft string trimmer, and a Stihl FS85 multi-attachment unit with the articulating hedge trimmer attachment.

After reading some more posts here, I've now decided to abandon the idea of the Edgit for my Homelite, and instead buy the Stihl FC85 edger attachment for my FS85.

My only concern about using an edger instead of a string trimmer is that where my grass meets the curb is not straight and even, so I'm concerned about damaging the edger or the curb. But I'm optimistic that it'll work out.
