We just finished hosting a two day learning experience with Chip Osborne on organic turf management. Attendees varied from experienced organic practitioners to LCO's just looking into organics and several school grounds managers.

It's hard to imagine all these people listening intently for hours to Chip speak.
I attend many turf seminars and classes that are attended by people who are only only there for pesticide credits. Mostly they don't even pretend to listen to the speaker.

Chip however is always able to keep people interested & excited about learning new methods. If you ever get a chance to attend his seminars, you will not be disappointed.

I'm guessing this is the same Chip Osborne from Marblehead.

The place where he is Chair of the Parks and Rec.

Where they (him and fellow council members) promote Artificial Sports Fields at $1.5 million dollars each, as opposed to organic turf.

Even one of the councilors had her field hockey team practicing on the tennis courts because the Organic sports fields were in such bad shape. Its all documented.

Common info available to anyone on the Marblehead Mass Website, look thru the minutes of meetings.

    Bahhhh!

It's unfortunate that you chose to spend a lot of time trying to discredit people by spreading misinformation.

The information that you refer to has little to do with Chip, but because he was the chairman of the recreation and Park commission his name is on the document. The blurb about the commissioner who was a field hockey coach practicing on a tennis court made it into the minutes because it was submitted by her as a letter to the commission. The synthetic turf field had nothing to do with Chip. There has been a group in Marblehead for a number of years privately raising funds to build the field and this year it came to reality. Chip did not vote to support it, in fact two years ago when it was presented to town meeting to try to have it publicly funded, he was the only elected official in the town not to vote in favor of supporting the article.

I am thinking we both have something in common here.

A business that creates safe, sustainable and healthy athletic fields.

Yet the Athletic fields in Marblehead are either un useable, shut down for repair or synthetic.

I wonder if Chip would have any pull creating safe, sustainable and healthy athletic fields when Chair of the Parks and Rec?

    Conflict of Interest?

Board Member of Beyond Pesticides doesn't help his cause.

2,4-D is not going to kill you when kids roll around or drop their water bottle on treated lawns/fields.

Chip did a scare presentation on that as well.

Resorting to Synthetic Pesticides as (Rescue Treatments) is saying the Organic Program is Failing.

You have a different point of view than mine. So be it.
