Need some help from you all. I am new to the repair side of installations. I need info on electrical diagnostics. Is there an article or link to some education on using voltmeter, station master, etc. for diagnostics of controllers, valves, solenoids, wire to and from valve and controller.

    Thanks to all in advance.

All that stuff is not that hard to get a handle on....the vom will be the most important
tool you'll need to master...the only settings you need are volts & ohms, learn what
resistance is & how it relates to wiring & solenoid operation. The other toys will become
apparent as need occurs. All major brands have lotsa info, as well as "Green Industry
Magazine". Experience is the best teacher.....it takes some time & still, we're stumped,
    & least I've been....before I could reason it out.:)

Any cheesy VOM will handle most of the work. If you want to get into advanced cases, a meter that can read AC current is useful. My old snap-around current meter with the extra-low-range saved the day, once or twice. At some point, most of the controllers will become self-diagnostic.

A blatant plagiarism from "Tom Swift & His Hyper Zone Controller."

Too bad the series ended before Tom Swift Jr. and his Atomic Shrubbler.

Penny & Clipper would be crushed to hear that; they spent the last years of
their lives trying to perfect it....something about the mutant hydrangeas.

I read some of the Tom Swift Jr series, up to around The Caves of Nuclear Fire. Pretty much the same sort of cast as the original series. Tom, his pal, some comedy relief. Did Junior ever marry his girlfriend? Took the old man about thirty volumes to pop the question.

You have something in common with Junior's old man.

I'd teach ROTAR the trade for dad's hat.
