Employee Performance Evaluations

    I'm consulting for a large lawn and landscape company (25 full-time, 30-40 seasonal employees) on their current evaluation process. They are looking to revise their current process or even completely change it. I was wondering what kind of performance evaluations some of you use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Whoever shows up for three weeks in a row without being late, $0.30/hr raise once a year max.
    Exceptional effort and work with regards to lawn care mean I don't have to tell them anything they did wrong on a property, or something they forgot. If they do this all day, I'll usually give them an extra $15 for that day.
    If it happens the whole week, I'll give them $50 at the end of the week.

    I try to compliment them when their lines are particularly straight or the trimming is exceptional. They seem to want to try to impress you when you recognize when they do a good job.

    Get and read the Book "Hardwiring Excellence" from Quint Studer
    It will open your eyes on how to manage your work force.
