I just put my first enclosed trailer into service and have some questions. I need to get my small stuff (trimmer, blower, etc.)off the floor and onto the walls. How do I know where to mount racks and shelves? Are there studs under the wood paneling? I don't think the paneling itself would support racks and shelves. It is only about 1/8" thick, it looks like luan.

Put some 2x4's behind the racks to bring them away from the walls so you dont have to pay for the mounting kit from the company. They work the same way.

What do I screw the 2x4s into?

Use self taping screws. Screw them in to the wall studs. I used 3/4 plywood to mount my racks on to. Run the across 2 or more studs per attachment point.

There are metal Z studs in the walls...

Sorry. Should have said self drilling/tapping screws. Like the ones used all over an enclosed trailer.

I was just explaining to Statman the shape and material of the wall studs... What you said made sense EMJ.
