energy savings?

    with the energy and being green being the hype these days.
    Wouldn't it help to make the site eco friendly?

    On there is a write up about the site and how using a black or dark background requires less energy and sites with a white background use the most. with 100000000000 people visiting this site every day, i think the small color change on the back ground may help save some power... every little bit help right????

    Considering a lot of people are on LCDs, I don't see that it would make much of a difference.

    Turn down the brightness on your monitor please.

    When google did there black-out campaign, and made the home site black, they said there were doing it just to draw attention to the campaign and that changing colors on the website makes no difference in power consumption. regardless the color, the screen still has to be energized to produce it.

    it would be awesome if each user could select their own layout colors.
