I have a 61" ferris walkbehind that has a 17 hp kawasaki on it now and burns a decent amount of oil when it runs (lots of white smoke). Would it be worth trying to fix myself, (i've rebuilt several engines before) or just buy a new engine for it? Will a kohler 25hp fit on the ferris dual drive frame?

Steve, I replaced a 17 hp pull start kawi on my Ferris 52" with an extra 23 hp kawi that I had. My dealer did all the work and I originally thought it wouldn't be all that big of a deal (battery box, some different wiring, etc.)...$1300 bucks later :hammerhead:
