I have a rather large for us blanket project. its about 69000 sq ft and we are going to use 3/4 lb double net curlex for it. I have started looking for staplers to help speed us up and have found a couple of different options. The first being a stick with a magnet, then a manual stapler that you step on and then air powered staplers. Has any one ever used any of these? Id like the pros and cons or your thoughts of what you have tried.

Also has any one ever used of the blanker installers that attach to a tractor or skid loader?

Before investing in staple guns, check soil conditions. First, we found 6 guys with rubber mallets is faster hand stapling than the $2500 plus invested in guns and cartridge staples. Any kind of rocky soil or hard ground can be a headache using staple guns. We have laid a lot of straw blankets (Western Excelsior are good rolls) and prefer the rubber mallet method. We just completed about the same size job a couple of weeks ago using blankets. If you have the manpower use it.

Everyone that has tried the air staplers has had problems with the staples jamming. Your going to put in 1000's of staples so failures are going to happen. The magnetic hand staplers seems to work the best for us.
