This is a great tool to find problems in wiring! If you can't find it with a wire locater you probably will find it with this (if you know how to use it properly).
I'd rather be within a few inches of a wiring fault than a few feet, especially in the heavily landscaped yards that I work in.
Gotta have a locater to mark the wiring path first though.
And read the manual! This device can give false readings but the manual shows you how to identify them.

Agreed a pulsar is a must have for most technicians along with the 521 locater.

Check out armada's locator's. The are similar to the 521's but are said to not pick up interference as easy. Also cheaper than the 521's. Green lee dropped their prices by the hundreds to compete so must not be that bad. Also have a money back guarantee to I believe.

The feet sink into the grass or soil.

Can't imagine the step-on toolbox even spending a moment on a lawn. Strictly a plumbing box, I think. Biggest gripe about it is that I don't know of any full-frame hacksaws that will fit inside.

Who would think an irrigator might be doing "plumbing" on a lawn.

On underground pipes and fittings? While sitting on a step-stool?
