I live in Maryland and I don't have a home improvement license yet, which you need to basically any work. I plan on taking the test very soon. I guess my question is, what are your thoughts on performing work at houses without the license? I won't do any work on the house itself but just landscaping and mowing until I get the license. I want to start early enough so I can get contracts for the season but I also want to do things the right way. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

each state is different...including penalty if you get caught.

Its up to you if you want to risk it. If you came on here and said you had no desire to get it, then I'd have a different opinion, but if your in a transitional time, then I say get going and get the license in parallel.
Overall, it sounds stupid---home improvement license to mow?? cmon, just another politician with his hand in your pocket.
