Eugenia (Syzigium paniculatum) Dieback

    Eugenia is used extensively (hedges & topiary) in the area I work & I'm starting to run into some dieback problems. The research implicates a fungus as the problem.

    Just wonder if anyone else is seeing it, & if anyone has treated for it. I read an article from UF on herbicides used for it.

    I avoid trimming when it's moist, but sterilizing tools every time would be a major hassle.

    New to my area. But I believe it is coming in on New Nursery stock from Homestead Nurseries since it is new stock that I am seeing infected. So far Bacillus subtilis seems to be the only cure that is working for me. I can stop the dieback but new growth is very slow in coming back.
