Has anyone ever built a dump trailer? I've got a tilt trailer that I think I'm going to convert to a dump trailer. Looks like it should be a fairly easy endeavor - little welding, some fabricating, etc... But I need some advice on Hydraulics. Anyone out there ever built or converted a dump trailer?

I think you would be wise to buy a new one. For what they cost.

What size is your trailer and what is its gross weight? Northern Tool has lots of hydraulics that would work. Are you going to use a single center ram or dual rams on the sides?

It's a 6x12 trailer. I was going to check with Northern Tool and maybe TSC (tractor supply co). I was going to probably go with the single center ram. I think the trailer is rated for about 2500 - 3000 lbs.

I would be very careful not to overload it. All the steel and hydraulics are really going to add a lot of weight to the trailer.
