I had a edger motor on an Shindaiwa 260LE take a puke today. I have had great luck with these machines. I wasnt using it and I had used it earlier with no issues but it just stopped. When I got home I had a chance to examine the damage and assess the situation. The piston was scored bad so I removed the cylinder and the cylender seems ok but the piston was trashed and the rings trashed. New piston and rings and misc probably 50 bucks but I saw J-thomas has some JS replacement motors for these for around a hundred bucks tank muffler carb and all. Has anyone ever tried these? Any input would be appreciated.

I'd like to know also. My only reservation is the 25:1 mix ratio. What's up with that? Tony

I'm with Tony on the 25-1 ratio. Most 2 strokes are 50 to 1. Does this mean that the tolerances are not to spec? Who knows? I would just rebuild the Shindy you have
