I have a side job building a concrete block wall faced with cultured stone. it will go on a 3' footing. the problem is that the wall and footing are located at the top of a steep slope. with the backhoe I normally use, It is not possible to straddle the flat area and slope in order to dig the footing. is there any mini x that can dig at 90 degrees? any otyher suggestions?

Between the boom swing feature on some machines and the turn table body design you might be able to dig it with a mini ex. I don't know how steep it is but most mini exs have a backfill blade that you might be able to level off the machine with. Does this help?

check out their house levelling units. They can dig on a 15 degree slope and sit level.
