My question was "what commercial 30 inch mower can you buy for around $1000. Yours is a homeowner model.

I threw that up there so you, or anyone else, would have the info. There are some specific differences between the homeowner and commercial models. However, most would agree that the commercial models aren't worth the ~50% upcharge.

If you care, the TimeMaster has the Space Saver handle, which for many, is very important. The differences I listed before, plus this, might make a difference in someone's decision.

Just because the other two mowers are listed as "commercial" doesn't necessarily make them better.

My point exactly. It's not a commercial mower.

What makes a 30" "commercial" mower so much better and worth ~$600 more?

Pretty much the same reason you got a Hustler X One over say a Toro Time Cutter, it will last longer and stronger components. One of the best things I ever did was switch from my old Toro Super Recyclers and bought the Exmarks, only issues I have had was one drive cable broke. Toro SRs went through transmissions and the decks cracked.

The differences in most don't apply to the 30" Toro/eXmark mowers. That's why I'm asking "Tennesseepowerstroke" why he's so adamant about the "commercial" label being on these mowers. I want him to explain to me what the differences are, since it makes such a big difference to him.

I don't understand your question as this seems to have gotten off track. I simply asked what 30 inch commercial mower the poster could purchase for around $1000. There is a difference between commercial mowers and homeowner models. If you make a living mowing, you should, or need, to know the difference.

My point is you don't know the differences in the 30" models available. You're simply throwing around a blanket statement. Just because it has a "commercial" sticker on it, doesn't make it truly commercial. If you spent any time researching or actually using 30" mowers, you'd know that none of them are truly commercial mowers, despite how they're marketed.

Yes. I do know the differences, in the 30" mowers you asked about. That's why I chose what I have. That's why many other people who make their living mowing have chosen the same mower that I have. But, you somehow think that just because they don't have a "commercial" sticker on them, they're not worthy enough to make a living with.

The differences in 21" mowers is much more apparent. What applies to them doesn't apply to the 30".

    Revisit your entire statement:

no mower expert , but 21 compared to 30 = 30's cutting 50% more per pass = 30's a no brainer because of saving time when your cutting that many lawns
